About us

The Seniors Health Research Transfer Network (SHRTN) Knowledge Exchange was created in 2005 through a grant of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. As part of the SHRTN Collaborative, SHRTN facilitates knowledge exchange amongst paid and unpaid caregivers, researchers, and policy makers.

Vision

The SHRTN vision is to become the place-to-go in Ontario for the latest knowledge and best practices about seniors’ health and health care.

Mission

SHRTN members participated in over 250 knowledge exchange events and over 350 meetings this year in person and through technology made available through SHRTN.

Providing access to evidence through the SHRTN Library Service

  • SHRTN delivers free library services to paid caregivers working with seniors across the province. This includes literature searches, reference requests, outreach visits, and education sessions.

Supporting local leaders

  • SHRTN brings together early adopters and leaders in Local Implementation Teams to advise, set priorities, and direct SHRTN initiatives.

Provincial stewardship

  • The SHRTN Board of Directors has made significant progress toward their strategic goals, including strategic planning, direction setting, and partnership development with major health associations.

Collaborating on Research
